Travel Information

BSFC 2023

Baylor Symposium on Faith and Culture
October 25-27, 2023

The conference will begin at 11 am on Wednesday, October 25th, and end at 2 pm on Friday, October 27th.

Please note: Because of heightened demand for hotel rooms in Waco during October, we encourage you to make your reservations as soon as possible.

Location

The conference will be held on the campus of Baylor University. Participants will register or check in on the second floor of the Bill Daniel Student Center, which is located at the corner of South 5th Street and MP Daniel Esplanade. Most of the concurrent sessions, plenary sessions, and meals will be held in the Bill Daniel Student Center. Other venues for particular events will be announced closer to the conference.

Designated visitor parking is available in the lot behind Bill Daniel Student Center and in front of the Cashion Academic Center. For a map of these and other parking lots, click here.

You may also park at the Ferrell Center and take a shuttle onto campus - all free of charge. Take the Gold Route shuttle to Speight Street Stop.

Transportation

Driving

Waco, Texas, is conveniently located in Central Texas, approximately one hundred miles south of Dallas/Fort Worth and one hundred miles north of Austin. Interstate 35 runs through the center of Waco, and Baylor University is immediately east of the highway at either the University Parks or 4th/5th Street Exits.

Due to ongoing construction on I-35 in Waco, please check TxDOT regularly for lane closures and exit changes near the Baylor campus. For the most up-to-date information on the project, follow TxDOT on Twitter @TxDOTWaco. Delays are expected to occur during this work. Plan your travel by visiting www.waco4bmap.org.

Flying

When planning your travel, please keep in mind that, in addition to Waco Regional Airport (ACT), four airports in Dallas, Austin, and Killeen are within a two-hour or less drive to Waco via Interstate 35: Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW), Dallas Love Field (DAL), Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS), and Killeen-Fort Hood Regional Airport (GRK).

Shuttle Service from Dallas Airports to Waco

The Waco Streak provides scheduled airport shuttles to DFW and Love Field four times daily. For more information, call 254-772-0430.

Transportation from other airports outside Waco will require a rental vehicle. Visitors arriving at Waco's airport should verify whether their hotels provide shuttle service to that airport.

Transportation during Conference

Transportation between airports, hotels, and campus must be arranged by the attendee. We regret that the Institute is unable to provide a shuttle service to the large number of attendees attending the conference.

Some hotels provide shuttle service to and from Waco's airport. Please inquire and make arrangements with your hotel for pickup and dropoff in advance of your arrival and departure flights.

You also will need to make arrangements for travel between the campus and the hotels. If you will not have a vehicle, then please check whether your hotel offers shuttle service to and from campus.

Rental Cars

The following rental car agencies serve Waco's airport. Please be sure to contact these companies in advance as availability is typically limited during conferences.

Avis Car Rental: (254) 756-1921
Enterprise: (254) 755-8324

Hotels

A list of hotels is available here: Hotels (PDF file).

Additional Information

Additional hotel and travel information can be found on the Waco Heart of Texas website.
