Reading Resilience in the Psalms: Trauma, Healing, and the Strength to Survive
Book Launch with Rebecca W. Poe Hays
Thursday, October 29, 2026
4:00-5:15 p.m.
George W. Truett Theological Seminary, Room 309

Join us as we celebrate the publication of Reading Resilience in the Psalms: Trauma, Healing, and the Strength to Survive, the newest book by Rebecca W. Poe Hays, Associate Professor of Christian Scriptures at Truett Seminary. Drawing on biblical studies, trauma theory, and the psychology of resilience, Dr. Poe Hays explores how the Psalms can help us understand suffering, cultivate hope, and discover resources for healing and human flourishing.

Following Dr. Poe Hays's presentation, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a Q&A and celebrate the book's publication with colleagues from across the Baylor community. Light refreshments will be provided.

We hope you will join us for this timely conversation on Scripture, resilience, and the enduring relevance of the Psalms.
