Institute for Faith and Learning and Spiritual Life Launch Chapel Leader Training Program
The Institute for Faith and Learning (IFL) and Spiritual Life are launching a new Chapel Leader Training Program to prepare Baylor faculty and staff to lead undergraduate Callings & Career chapels with greater confidence and intentionality.
Many Baylor faculty and staff have valuable experiences and vocational insights that can contribute to students' spiritual formation. This six-session workshop series is designed to help faculty and staff translate that expertise into engaging, formative chapel experiences rooted in Baylor's Character in Deeds initiative.
Throughout the program, participants will explore Christian vocation and virtue, practical approaches to chapel leadership, examples of effective chapel practices, and strategies for designing chapel experiences that encourage students to connect their academic work, future vocations, and Christian faith.
The program is intended for faculty and staff who plan to lead a Callings & Career chapel, are interested in doing so, or have previously led chapel and would like additional training. Participation in the training is not a commitment to lead chapel.
Participants will receive curated resources, collaborate with colleagues from across campus, and help shape a pilot program that will inform the future development of chapel leader training at Baylor. Faculty and staff who are eligible for additional compensation under Baylor policies will receive a stipend upon successful completion.
The Chapel Leader Training Program is a partnership between the Institute for Faith and Learning and Spiritual Life and is generously funded through Baylor's Character in Deeds initiative, supported by Wake Forest University's Program for Leadership and Character and Lilly Endowment Inc.
